CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH -
The Heights High A Cappella Choir and the Barbershoppers competed and made our community proud in the OMEA Large Group competition on March 12. The A Cappella Choir received straight 1’s (superior rating) from the three judges in AA class. The Barbershoppers received the first ever 1 + (better than superior rating) from the judges. Each group’s presentation included three prepared pieces and sight-reading. Both groups were commended by the judges.
The students performed “How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place” by Johannes Brahms; “Sanctus” by Jan Sandstrom; “Ezekiel Saw de Wheel” by William Dawson; “De Animals a-Comin’” by Marshall Bartholomew; “The Prayer of the Children” by Andrea Klouse; and “Ching-A-Ring-Chaw” by Aaron Copland.
Congratulations to our students who worked so hard on the performances and who earned great scores! |
